This series targets the mathematical practices directly and will help teachers engage students in things like problem solving, reasoning and persisting through long problems, all important goals of the Common Core Standards as they help prepare students for using math in real life. The materials will be equally important to teachers who do not use the Common Core as there is widespread awareness that students need to engage more actively and learn how to problem solve and reason. This series will focus upon the core conceptual ideas at each grade level, such as those of multiplication, place value or fractions, which will enhance students' achievement across the curriculum.
